Sheikhs and residents of the city of Jaramana in the Damascus countryside called for the necessity of unifying ranks and maintaining calm, while emphasizing the importance of a ceasefire and holding all parties involved in the violations that accompanied the recent events in Sweida accountable. They also demanded support for relief efforts to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and improve basic services for citizens.

This came in a statement published by activists and local pages on the evening of Saturday, August 2, urging to "reveal the fate of all the missing and kidnapped," considering that this issue "constitutes the top priority at this stage."

The statement indicated that "rebuilding bridges of trust requires the transitional authority to take responsibility for holding accountable the criminals, whoever they are, who committed serious violations against our people, violated the dignity and sanctities of individuals in scenes that have troubled humanity, and contradicted all values, norms, and divine laws," emphasizing the necessity of criminalizing all forms of sectarian and denominational incitement.

The statement also addressed the Syrian struggle against the previous regime, stating: "Syrians have fought to rid themselves of the tyrant's regime, and we dream of building a homeland that accommodates all its children, where we are united by adherence to brotherhood and noble human values, elevating the voice of reason and wisdom, and rejecting the rhetoric of division and hatred."

The residents of Jaramana also reiterated their national constants, affirming that "the unity of Syrian territory is a constant of ours that we do not accept to compromise, and our historical struggle to defend the land and honor, and to confront the colonizer and occupier, obliges us today to condemn all forms of foreign intervention and denounce the repeated Israeli attacks on the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic."

The statement concluded with a fraternal message: "O Syrian brothers, our homeland has gone through great tribulations and hardships; we survived them through our solidarity and unity, which is the shield we cling to today as we did yesterday."
