Japan announces its support for Syria's electricity project through the World Bank to support Syrians and enhance the energy sector

The Japanese government has announced its support for the emergency project "SEEP" to improve electricity supplies in Syria, during the World Bank Board of Directors' vote on supporting the project.
The Japanese Embassy in Syria, through its official account on the "X" platform, stated that Tokyo voted in favor of the project to support the daily lives of Syrians and enhance the energy sector, as part of its policy to contribute to improving basic services in the country.
The "SEEP" project is one of the World Bank programs dedicated to enhancing electricity supplies in Syria, especially in conflict-affected areas, aiming to improve infrastructure and alleviate burdens on the population.
Earlier on the same day, the Syrian Minister of Energy, Mohammed Al-Bashir, announced during a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and the Jordanian Minister of Water Raed Abu Al-Saud, that the World Bank has provided a grant to rehabilitate the electricity interconnection line within Syrian territories, connecting the Syrian network with the Jordanian one.
