The Israeli army issues evacuation orders for areas in Gaza amid escalating shelling.
The Israeli army issued evacuation orders for several areas in Gaza, including Al-Shifa Hospital, and requested residents of the southern Al-Rimal neighborhood to evacuate the area immediately. The Israeli army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, posted a statement on "X" stating that "Hamas has exploited civilian areas for terrorist activities," and mentioned that the army will heavily attack the area, attaching a map to clarify the areas that must be evacuated.

In another development, the Israeli army has already started shelling the areas that were ordered to be evacuated in Gaza.

The Civil Defense in Gaza announced yesterday morning the death of 80 people in Israeli airstrikes on the sector, which has been under siege since March 2, 2025. Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza on March 18, 2025, after a two-month ceasefire.
The Israeli Security Council approved a plan earlier this month to invade Gaza territories, deciding to call up tens of thousands of reserve soldiers to expand military operations, as well as discussing the idea of voluntary migration for Palestinians.

The Security Council statement added that the goal of the plan is to eliminate Hamas and launch "strong strikes" against it, in addition to rescuing hostages held in the sector. In a statement from his office, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the army will enter Gaza "with all its might" in the coming days.

The war in Gaza broke out after an attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in the death of 1218 people, mostly civilians. The Israeli army announced that among the 251 prisoners detained during the attack, 57 are still held in Gaza, including 34 who were killed. Additionally, Hamas has been holding the remains of an Israeli soldier since 2014.

In Gaza, at least 52,928 Palestinians have been killed since the outbreak of the war, most of them civilians, according to the latest toll announced by the Hamas-affiliated Ministry of Health, considered reliable by the United Nations.
