Israel continues to kill civilians in Gaza... and Trump says people in Gaza are dying of hunger.
The health authorities in Gaza reported today, Friday, that Israeli strikes in the region have resulted in the death of more than 250 people since Thursday morning, marking one of the most intense phases of bombardment since the ceasefire collapsed in March, with a new ground attack expected soon. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Khalil al-Daqran, stated that the airstrikes and shelling have been concentrated in the northern part of the densely populated small region, where dozens of people, including women and children, were killed overnight. Israel continues its bombardment and deploys armored vehicles on the borders despite increasing international pressure to resume ceasefire talks and end the blockade on Gaza, where a global hunger monitoring observatory has warned of a famine. President Donald Trump expressed his support for providing aid to Palestinians today, stating that people in Gaza are starving and anticipating "a lot of good things" in the coming month. When asked about supporting Israeli plans to expand the war in Gaza, Trump told reporters, "I think a lot of good things will happen in the next month, and we will see. We also need to help the Palestinians. As you know, many people in Gaza are starving, so we need to look at both sides." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on May 5th that Israel plans to launch a broad and intensive attack on the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas), while the Israeli security cabinet approved plans that may involve seizing control of the entire Gaza Strip and managing aid.
