Israel Bombs Hezbollah Positions Near the Château de Beaufort in Southern Lebanon
The Israeli army has intensified its military operations in southern Lebanon, announcing this morning, Sunday, that it carried out an airstrike targeting facilities belonging to Hezbollah around the Château de Beaufort, claiming to have detected "military activity" inside.

An official statement from the Israeli army indicated that the strike targeted "military infrastructure underground, where activity by Hezbollah elements was detected," in the area located in the southern part of the country, which has been experiencing ongoing tension for months.

In a related development, Israeli drones dropped warning leaflets in the town of Aita al-Shaab, in the Bint Jbeil district, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
The agency reported that an airstrike was carried out after midnight last night on a house in the town, with no injuries reported.

The agency also reported that a missile fell in the "Darb al-Qamar Road" area in the town of Maifdoun, without detonating, confirming that the relevant authorities are monitoring the incident to take appropriate security measures.

Despite the ceasefire agreement being in effect since November 27, Israel continues to carry out repeated airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as targeting areas in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut, which is considered a stronghold of Hezbollah.
The Israeli forces still maintain a military presence at five border points within Lebanese territory, in clear violation of international resolutions.

Last Thursday, the Israeli army announced that it had targeted infrastructure and missile launch platforms belonging to Hezbollah in multiple southern areas, and army spokesman Avichai Adraee claimed that these facilities constitute "a violation of the existing understandings between the two sides."

For its part, the Lebanese government confirmed that it is taking serious steps to disarm Hezbollah, which has imposed its dominance over the south for decades, while the party reiterated its absolute rejection of any attempt to disarm it, emphasizing its continued resistance to "Israeli aggression."

This escalation comes amid increasing tensions on Lebanon's southern border, with fears that the situation could slip into a wider confrontation if mutual violations continue.
