Defense Minister Thabit Al-Abbasi of Iraq emphasized the necessity of the continued presence of the international coalition forces to combat the terrorist organization "ISIS" in Syria, warning of the threat posed by the families of ISIS members in Syria to Iraq's security. Al-Abbasi also announced the stalled talks between the new Syrian government and the "Syrian Democratic Forces" regarding the latter's integration into the Syrian defense forces, stressing the importance of the ongoing "Operation Resolve" to combat the terrorist organization. He pointed out that the Iraqi government has requested through Turkey for Damascus to close the Al-Hol camp, highlighting that the main issue lies with the European citizens in the camp, whose countries have not yet responded to repatriate them.
