An Iranian deputy said today, Tuesday, that the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, should not be allowed to enter Iran.

The student news agency reported that Deputy Aladdin Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, called for suspending cooperation with the agency.

This comes as Grossi revealed earlier on Tuesday that he had contacted Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, proposed a meeting with him, and urged him to cooperate following the announcement of a ceasefire between Tehran and Israel.

Grossi also stated in a post on "Twitter" that Iran's resumption of cooperation with the agency could lead to a diplomatic solution to the long-standing controversy surrounding its nuclear program.

The National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament approved yesterday the broad lines of a bill aimed at suspending Tehran's full cooperation with the Atomic Energy Agency.
