The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization confirmed today, Sunday, that American attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities occurred, describing these attacks as a violation of international law, emphasizing that it will not allow the halt of its "national industry" development, referring to the Iranian nuclear program.
The agency did not specify the extent of the damage caused by the attacks announced by US President Donald Trump.
On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, described the US strikes on Iran as a "serious escalation" in a region facing significant risks and a direct threat to international peace and security.
Guterres warned of the danger of the conflict quickly spiraling out of control with serious consequences for civilians, the region, and the world, emphasizing the need to avoid the chaos spiral and resort to diplomatic solutions as the only way forward, stating that the only hope is peace.
This came after Iranian television announced that there were no serious damages at the Fordow nuclear facility, and that enriched uranium reserves had been moved from the targeted nuclear sites.
The Iranian IRNA agency also reassured that the nuclear sites do not contain materials that cause radiation.
Iranian media pointed out that Iran had evacuated 3 nuclear sites some time ago, and an Iranian official confirmed that the nuclear sites were not damaged irreparably.
In a related context, CBS News network reported that the United States diplomatically communicated with Iran on Saturday to inform them that all the strikes were planned by them, and that they do not intend to attempt regime change in Tehran.
