The head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, "Hossein Bor-Farzaneh," announced the cancellation of all flights to Lebanon until at least the 18th of this month.
According to the Tasnim news agency, the organization's president stated that "Lebanese authorities requested Tehran to suspend flights to Beirut airport until February 18 due to special security circumstances and the cancellation of all international flights.
He added that "Iranian passengers will not be transported during this period."
Last Thursday, Lebanon prevented an Iranian plane from landing on its territory after the Israeli army accused Tehran of using civilian aircraft to smuggle money to Beirut to arm Hezbollah.
Following the ban on the Iranian flight, Lebanon sent two planes from the national Middle East Airlines to repatriate stranded Lebanese in Iran, but Tehran refused to allow the planes to land on its territory.
