An international report reveals details of the "Ali Al-Wahsh Street Massacre" in 2014.

The "Studies and Research Department" of the Working Group for Palestinians in Syria has issued a comprehensive report titled "The Road of Death," revealing serious violations that occurred in January 2014 in the Ali Al-Wahsh Street area south of the capital Damascus. More than 1500 people, including women and children, were subjected to forced disappearance or killing, with only 11 survivors.
The 103-page report sheds light on one of the worst crimes committed during the Syrian war, accusing the Syrian regime forces and their allied militias of committing crimes against humanity through arbitrary arrests, systematic torture, and mass field executions.
The report highlighted that the area had been under severe siege since July 2013, with the Syrian regime and its affiliated militias imposing a blockade on the Yarmouk camp and surrounding areas, leading to a famine that claimed hundreds of lives. Despite news of the opening of a "humanitarian corridor" through Ali Al-Wahsh Street in January 2014, thousands of civilians rushed to the location in search of a safe exit, only to find themselves trapped in a bloody ambush that claimed the lives of dozens.
The report includes shocking testimonies from survivors, including Mrs. "Mariam Al-Sweidani," who lost her husband and children in the incident. She recounted how men were separated from women and children, then subjected to brutal beatings and torture, revealing cases of rape, torture, as well as the deliberate execution of infants in front of their families and the systematic burning of victims' bodies.
The report called on the international community to urgently take legal and moral responsibility for these crimes, hold those involved accountable, reveal the fate of the missing, and ensure the rights of the victims' families to access justice and truth.
The report was released on the eleventh anniversary of the massacre, aiming to break the silence surrounding it and document evidence implicating the Syrian regime and its affiliated militias in serious violations that may amount to war crimes.
