Internal Security Forces in Deir ez-Zor Dismantle Armed Cell and Free Kidnapped Individual Within Hours

The Internal Security Forces in Deir ez-Zor province managed to dismantle an armed cell that carried out a kidnapping operation in the countryside of Al-Bukamal city, where the kidnapped citizen was freed just a few hours after his abduction. It later became clear that one of the gang members was involved with the "SDF".
Colonel Darar Al-Shamlan, the head of internal security in Deir ez-Zor, reported that security forces received a notification on the evening of Thursday, July 31, regarding the kidnapping of a citizen in the village of Al-Siyal west of Al-Bukamal. He stated in an official remark: "The report was dealt with immediately, as security teams began intensive investigations to determine the location of the cell."
Al-Shamlan added: "Our forces were able to monitor the movements of the cell in a record time and carried out a qualitative security operation at 11:30 PM, resulting in the release of the kidnapped individual in good condition and the arrest of four members of the group."
Initial investigations revealed that the motive behind the kidnapping was to extort the citizen financially, and seized documents showed that one of the detainees holds a leadership position in the "SDF" militia, indicating backgrounds that go beyond financial crime.
Colonel Al-Shamlan confirmed that "all those involved have been referred to the judiciary," emphasizing that "the Internal Security Forces will not tolerate any party that threatens the safety of citizens or targets the stability of the region, regardless of their affiliations."
This security achievement comes as part of a series of intensive operations taking place in Syrian provinces to combat organized crime, which varies from kidnapping and extortion cases to drug crimes and domestic violence, within the framework of efforts to enhance security and stability.
