The Syrian Minister of Defense, Major General Engineer Marouf Abu Qasra, received today, Wednesday, at the ministry headquarters in Damascus, a high-level military delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by Major General Yusuf Al-Huneiti, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Also present at the meeting was Major General Ali Niazzan, Chief of the General Staff of the Syrian Army.
According to the Ministry of Defense's official Telegram account, the visit comes within the framework of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Huneiti's visit is the first by a senior Jordanian military official to Syria since the fall of the Assad regime on December 8th last year.
