The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, stated that Iran has launched more than 100 drones towards Israel in the past hours, saying: "We are facing difficult hours."
This came in response to Israel launching a military operation called "Rising Phoenix," aimed at targeting the Iranian nuclear program, with strikes targeting a neighborhood in Tehran where senior leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard reside.
The Israeli army indicated that the operation had been planned for a long time and was carried out after achieving breakthroughs within Iran. Several security system leaders in Iran were killed, and the army continues to strike military targets.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Israeli army carried out strikes against Iran to destroy vital facilities of the nuclear program, confirming that the attack targeted the heart of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, including the main enrichment facility in Natanz, as well as nuclear physicists.
Netanyahu said in a televised speech: "Israel has launched Operation Rising Phoenix, a targeted military operation aimed at eliminating the threat posed by Iran to Israel's existence. This operation will continue for several days as long as necessary." He added that the main goal of the strikes is to disable the Iranian nuclear program.
He pointed out that Tehran does not want to settle the dispute over its nuclear program diplomatically and does not intend to back down on uranium enrichment capabilities, prompting Israel to carry out the strikes. He emphasized, saying: "We struck the heart of the Iranian nuclear enrichment program, struck the heart of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, attacked the main Iranian enrichment facility in Natanz, targeted prominent nuclear physicists working on the Iranian bomb, and also struck the heart of the Iranian missile program."
