A responsible source stated that "technical teams have entered to start maintenance and rehabilitation operations at the Tishreen Dam in the countryside of Manbij, northern Syria, in preparation for restoring its services and electricity generation." According to SANA, the responsible source mentioned that "maintenance teams coming from Manbij, eastern Aleppo, and the Euphrates Dam have headed to their sites and continued repairing technical faults, aiming to fully and safely restart the transformer station." The source added that "the dam is technically ready, while maintenance works are ongoing at its affiliated transformer station to ensure its full readiness." The Tishreen Dam is located on the Euphrates River in northern Syria, with elevations ranging between 400 and 600 meters above sea level. It is 115 kilometers away from Aleppo and 80 kilometers from the Turkish border, administratively belonging to Manbij. The dam was put into service in 1999, with a construction cost of around 22 billion Syrian pounds. Its purpose is to generate electricity and supply wide areas in northern Syria with irrigation and drinking water, making it a vital lifeline for the population and agriculture. The dam has a hydroelectric station with six generating units, each with a capacity of 105 megawatts, totaling 630 megawatts for the station.
