After about a week since the sudden attack launched by the Ukrainian army on four Russian military airports using drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed exciting details about the operation named "Spider Network." In an interview with the American network "ABC News," Zelensky explained that the attack involved the use of drones hidden inside containers resembling "mobile homes" with foldable roofs, transported by Russian trucks without the drivers' knowledge, who carried out their work without realizing they were transporting tools for the attack. Zelensky said, "The drivers were unaware of anything, they just transported the containers, which were remotely opened to carry out the attack," adding that the drones targeted Russian airports and caused damage to Russian military equipment worth billions of dollars. The Ukrainian President emphasized that his country used only its local weapons in this operation, without relying on equipment from its allies, expressing his keenness on relying on domestic production. In contrast, US President Donald Trump considered the attack as giving Russian President Vladimir Putin "a pretext to heavily bomb Ukrainian territories," a comment that sparked widespread controversy. Russia responded by launching a wide attack on Ukrainian territories with missiles and drones, targeting several Ukrainian airports and cities, in what was described as a response to the Ukrainian attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed fires breaking out in military aircraft after the attack in the Murmansk region in the Arctic, and Irkutsk in eastern Siberia, in addition to attempts to target airports in Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur near the Chinese border, but they managed to repel these attacks. It is worth mentioning that Ukraine previously announced that it had damaged more than 40 Russian bombers during this operation, equivalent to about a third of the Russian strategic bomber fleet.
