Hamas announces its acceptance of a US proposal to stop the war and accuses Israel of not responding

The Hamas movement announced its acceptance of a US proposal to end the war in the Gaza Strip, at a time when international mediators and Israeli opponents accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government of thwarting diplomatic efforts and not responding to the proposed initiatives.
In a statement from the movement: "Hamas announced that it had previously accepted the American proposal, but it has not received any response from Israel." The statement confirmed "its readiness to negotiate regarding the release of prisoners," and it "welcomed any movement from the mediators to stop the war."
This agreement from Hamas comes after US President Donald Trump revealed his proposal to end the crisis, warning the movement of the consequences of rejection. Trump said on Sunday that his administration issued "a final warning to Hamas to accept the proposed initiative," warning of "severe consequences" if the deal is rejected.
Trump added that the movement must deal with the initiative seriously, considering it "the last opportunity" to reach an agreement, indicating that "the Israelis have accepted his terms, and now it is Hamas's turn to make a decision."
On the other hand, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid made strong accusations against Netanyahu's government, saying during a parliamentary group meeting: "There is an agreement regarding the release of hostages on the table, it can be implemented, and it must be implemented."
Lapid revealed that international mediators had contacted him, saying: "They told me: 'We do not understand. We have not received any response so far, neither positive nor negative. Israel simply does not respond.'" He confirmed that "Hamas informed the mediators that it is open to reaching an agreement whether it is comprehensive or partial."
According to Israeli media, the American proposal presented by Trump to Hamas is a "comprehensive deal" related to the humanitarian and political file in the Gaza Strip, and it includes "substantial changes compared to previous initiatives."
Israeli Channel 12 reported that "Hamas on the first day of implementing the deal will release all Israeli hostages, whether alive or deceased, in exchange for Israel releasing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners sentenced to long terms."
The proposal also "includes a call for Israel to stop the occupation of the city of Gaza, and to open a direct negotiation track between the two parties, to be managed and personally supervised by Trump" with the aim of ending the war.
