In a decisive step aimed at protecting citizens' rights and ensuring fair distribution of petroleum products, the branch manager of 'Fuel' company in Hama province, Engineer Radwan Al-Najm, announced the permanent closure of two fuel stations after proving serious violations that directly harmed consumers.
Al-Najm explained in an official statement that one of the stations did not comply with the applicable laws and regulations, while the other engaged in procuring petroleum products through illegal means, prompting an immediate decision to close them.
The violations did not stop there, as branch patrols identified various violations in 26 fuel stations located in the areas of Mahardah, Masyaf, and northern rural Hama. These infractions included:
• Selling above official pricing.
• Manipulating fuel pump meters.
• Dispensing inaccurate quantities.
• Closing stations without notifying management.
• Procuring materials through non-compliant methods.
• Non-compliance with safety and security conditions.
Al-Najm affirmed that the Hama Fuel branch continues to conduct regular inspection campaigns through its specialized patrols, emphasizing that the goal is to ensure the delivery of petroleum products to citizens with the required quality and fair pricing.
This action is part of ongoing efforts to enforce discipline in the fuel sector, especially following increasing complaints from citizens about some stations manipulating prices and quantities.
The Fuel branch manager noted that relevant authorities will not hesitate to enforce laws and take strict legal measures against any entity involved in violations, in order to maintain market stability and protect citizens' interests.
