In the context of the regional opening taking place in Syria, the Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister for Islamic World Affairs, Mohammad Anis Matta, confirmed his country's support for Syria in overcoming current challenges during his meeting with the Director of the Afro-Asian and Oceanic Affairs Department at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zakaria Lababidi, in the capital Jakarta.
During the meeting, the Syrian appreciation for the Indonesian experience was also emphasized, where
Lababidi expressed his appreciation for "the Indonesian experience in achieving national harmony", pointing to the importance of this experience in supporting stability and development.
The Syrian side also reviewed the current government's priorities, chief among them building a unified and stable state
and reconstruction, in addition to restoring Syria's regional and international role within its Arab and Islamic environment.
For his part, Mohammad Anis Matta confirmed that Indonesia is ready to support Syria in this critical phase, stressing the need to form a joint committee for consultation between the two countries, in a step aimed at enhancing political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
