The twentieth edition of the Arab International Exhibition for Food Industries, Packaging, and Packaging "Food Expo 2025" kicked off today, Wednesday, June 25, at the exhibition city in Damascus, with the participation of about 200 local, Arab, and international companies representing more than 800 brands, on an area of 25,000 square meters. The event continues until June 27, targeting a wide range of specialists in the food sector.

Mohammed Hamza, the General Manager of the Syrian Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets, emphasized the remarkable turnout in this edition, with participants from more than 10 countries, with a significant focus on local food industries and Syrian agricultural products. In a statement to "SANA" agency, he explained that "the exhibition comes as the first of its kind event after the liberation phase, reflecting the economic openness in Syria and its role in stimulating investment in the food sector".

Hamza pointed out the Syrian government's efforts to enhance food security, noting a growing international interest in investing in Syria, especially in the food sector. He said: "There are companies that own factories outside the country expressing their desire to return, and we encourage this step and support investment in this vital sector".

The General Manager revealed the establishment's plan to organize new exhibitions specializing in agriculture, oil, energy, reconstruction sectors, as well as medical, cosmetic, and textile machinery exhibitions, aiming to stimulate economic activity.

Regarding support for local companies, Hamza explained that the establishment is working on simplifying procedures to ensure effective participation in foreign exhibitions, contributing to opening up new markets and increasing exports.

It is worth mentioning that "Food Expo 2025" attracts exporters, importers, decision-makers, businessmen, as well as academics and experts in the food sector, making it an ideal platform for exchanging experiences and enhancing economic cooperation.
