Colonel Hassan Abdulghani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, said, "We have started a wide combing operation in the city of Jableh and its surroundings."
Abdulghani added, as reported by "SANA," that "the campaign came to support the Public Security Administration in restoring stability in the city and arresting unlawful groups taking refuge there."
Yesterday, Thursday, March 6, the city of Jableh witnessed intense clashes after unlawful groups attacked a checkpoint of the Public Security Administration near the city and targeted civilian cars.
The security director of Latakia province stated, "Our forces are now imposing a security cordon to besiege remnants of Assad's regime and unlawful gangs in the villages of Beit Anan and Daliya in the countryside of Latakia."
He added: "The armed groups clashing with our security forces in the countryside of Latakia were affiliated with the war criminal 'Suhail al-Hassan,' who committed the worst massacres against the Syrian people."
