The western neighborhoods of Aleppo were shaken last night, Monday, by a series of violent explosions echoing in Ramouseh, Hamdaniya, and around the military academy, causing panic and anxiety among residents.
It was later revealed that the explosions resulted from a technical malfunction in a tank inside the artillery college in the Ramouseh area, leading to the tank's explosion and a fire near a warehouse containing shells and ammunition, resulting in consecutive explosions.
Ambulances and fire trucks quickly headed to the scene, while rescue teams faced significant challenges in dealing with the fire amid the continuous sound of explosions for a period of time.
The scene was striking with smoke columns rising and intermittent explosions heard in various parts of the city.
Despite the magnitude and intensity of the explosions, no human injuries were reported. Syrian army units and civil defense managed to contain the fire and fully control the situation after a quick and effective response.
Authorities continue their investigations to determine the details and precise causes of the incident, especially with increasing questions about safety standards in sites containing old ammunition or war remnants still prone to explosions.
