Four major European teams have secured their spots in the semi-finals of the 2025 UEFA Nations League after thrilling encounters in the quarter-finals, setting up anticipated clashes between the continent's giants. France eliminated Croatia on penalties in a thrilling match at the Parc des Princes in Paris, securing their qualification after a 2-0 win in regular and extra time, mirroring the first leg's result. Goals from Michael Oliseh and Ousmane Dembele sealed the victory for France. Spain advanced to the semi-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over the Netherlands in a high-scoring match at the Mestalla in Valencia. Spain's Mikkel Oyarzabal scored twice, with Lamin Yama adding another, while goals from Memphis Depay, Ian Matson, and Xavi Simons were not enough for the Dutch. Portugal crushed Denmark 5-2 in Lisbon, with Joakim Andersen scoring an own goal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Francisco Trincao (twice), and Gonzalo Ramos finding the net. Rasmus Kristensen and Christian Eriksen scored for Denmark. Germany made history by qualifying for the semi-finals for the first time after a 3-3 draw with Italy, benefiting from their 2-1 first-leg win. Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, and Timo Klinist scored for Germany, while Moise Kean (twice) and Giacomo Raspadori netted for Italy. The quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League have set up heavyweight semi-final clashes, with France facing Spain and Portugal taking on Germany. The final stage of the tournament, including the semi-finals, final, and third-place playoff, will be hosted by Munich and Stuttgart between June 4-8, 2025.
