Eric Trump hints at his or one of his family members' candidacy for the presidency after his father's second term

In an interview with the Financial Times, Eric Trump, son of the American President Donald Trump, hinted at the possibility of his own or one of his family members' candidacy for the presidency after his father's second term, considering that "the path would be easy" if he chose to follow in his father's footsteps.
Eric, who serves as the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, explained that the decision depends on his desire to involve his family in the political scene, saying: "The question here is: Do I want to drag other family members into this? Do I want my children to experience the same thing I experienced over the past decade? If the answer is yes, then I think the political path (to the U.S. presidency) would be easy, meaning that I believe I am capable of achieving that."
He also indicated that other family members may enter the presidential race, expressing his confidence in his ability to perform the task "very efficiently," while expressing his complete dislike for "half of the politicians" he sees.
When asked if the 2024 elections would be the last for Donald Trump's candidacy, Eric responded:"I don't know... time will tell. But there are others besides me."
It is expected that current Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be among the leading contenders for the Republican Party nomination.
In response to criticism directed at his family regarding their financial benefits from the presidency, Eric Trump vehemently denied these accusations: "If there is one family that has not benefited from politics, it is the Trump family."
He revealed that the family's wealth would have been greater if not for the presidential candidacy, as they spent around $500 million to defend themselves against allegations of "alleged Russian interference" in the 2016 elections, saying:"In fact, I would say we would have saved a lot of zeros if my father had not run in the first place. The cost of the alternative, the legal cost, and the price our family paid were extremely high."
Unlike his siblings Donald Jr. and Ivanka, Eric (41 years old) has largely stayed away from the political spotlight, focusing on managing the family business since his father took office in 2017.
It is worth noting that a previous report by Forbes magazine indicated that Donald Trump generated revenues exceeding $2.4 billion as president, with a net income of around $550 million between 2017 and 2020, making him one of the wealthiest U.S. presidents during his term.
