Erdogan: Israeli Attacks on Syria Threaten Turkey's Security as Well

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country will continue to support the stability of Syria by maintaining its territorial integrity and political unity, warning that "the attacks carried out by Israel against Syria could also threaten our security," as he put it.
Erdogan's remarks came during his meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in The Hague, Netherlands, on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
In the context of discussing the refugee file, the Turkish president emphasized the importance of improving the economic and social conditions within Syria, saying: "Increasing social and economic welfare will facilitate the wide-scale return of Syrian refugees."
Erdogan also expressed his country's desire to enhance bilateral relations with the United Kingdom, stating: "We are working to strengthen relations with Britain with the aim of increasing trade volume to $30 billion, and we are working to enhance cooperation in all areas, especially defense industries."
