Erdogan: Discussed with Trump the Issue of Turkey Buying F-35 Fighter Jets

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, Wednesday, that he discussed the issue of Turkey buying F-35 fighter jets with his American counterpart Donald Trump, and that the American president has "good intentions" in this regard.
The United States had imposed sanctions on Ankara, a member of NATO, in 2020 for buying the Russian S-400 missile defense systems, and removed Turkey from the F-35 aircraft program in which it was involved in manufacturing and purchasing.
Erdogan told reporters in The Hague after a NATO summit that he did not discuss the S-400 deal with Trump as it is a "closed deal".
