Liverpool, the leader of the English Premier League football, announced today, Thursday, the extension of their captain Virgil van Dijk's contract with the club, keeping the Dutch defender at Anfield until 2027, thus ending months of speculation about his future.
Van Dijk commented on the contract extension in a statement, saying: "I feel proud and happy, it's unbelievable. The journey I've been through in my career so far and to be able to extend my contract for another two years with this club. It's amazing and I'm extremely happy."
