Egypt: 13 people die in a tragic accident.

In a horrific traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 3, 2025, 13 people were killed aboard a "microbus" after colliding with a heavy truck "trailer" on the Western Desert Road in Asyut Governorate, Egypt. The accident also resulted in two other individuals sustaining serious injuries.

The security authorities in the governorate detained the driver of the truck "trailer" responsible for the accident, while the bodies were transferred to the hospital morgue and the families of the victims were notified. The injured were also taken to the hospital for necessary treatment.

The images of the accident showed the extent of the impact, as the "microbus" was completely crushed, leading to the death of all passengers.

Asyut Governor inspected the accident site with security officials, while the relevant authorities are conducting drug analysis on the "trailer" driver as part of the ongoing investigations to uncover the details of the tragic incident. The Public Prosecution has requested expedited presentation of the analysis results to determine full responsibilities.
