Discussions on the Development of Aleppo International Airport and Enhancing its Operational Efficiency

The Governor of Aleppo, Engineer Azam Al-Ghareeb, discussed today, Sunday, with the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Engineer Ashhad Al-Salibi, in the Governorate building, ways to develop Aleppo International Airport and enhance its operational efficiency.
Both sides also discussed plans and mechanisms to enhance the airport's role as a main air gateway for the governorate, enabling it to regain its regional status to serve economic and touristic movements.
Following the meeting, an extensive session was held with representatives from airlines, the tourism sector, as well as a number of traders and industrialists, during which the current operational status of the airport and the challenges it faces were reviewed. Ambitious future plans were also presented to develop its infrastructure and services, expand its facilities to accommodate the increasing passenger and cargo traffic.
The Governor and the President of Civil Aviation responded to inquiries from sector representatives, emphasizing the importance of effective cooperation between the governorate, the authority, airlines, and the private sector.
Furthermore, there was an emphasis on the need to accelerate the pace of work to achieve a qualitative leap in the civil aviation and air transport sector in Aleppo, supporting economic development and enhancing the airport's role as an engine for investment and reconstruction.
