The Public Prosecution in Hama Governorate announced today, Tuesday, the discovery of the remains of 15 individuals, including a woman and a child, inside a well in the town of Ma'an in the northeastern rural Hama. It is believed that they died in a massacre committed in 2013 as part of a series of crimes and violations targeting civilians during that period.

The Attorney General in Hama, Judge Ayman Al-Othman, stated in a press release that the received report prompted the competent authorities to immediately head to the site accompanied by teams from the internal security, forensic medicine, and civil defense. The remains were recovered and transported to the forensic medicine center for necessary examinations and analyses to accurately determine the identities and complete the legal procedures.

Al-Othman also indicated that preliminary indicators and available evidence confirm that these remains belong to victims of a crime committed by the former regime, within the serious violations that targeted innocent civilians in 2013.

He affirmed that the Public Prosecution is committed to pursuing those responsible for these crimes and bringing them to justice, emphasizing that this crime represents one of the worst violations witnessed in the region.
