The Prince Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud announced today, Saturday, the death of his son Walid, known as the 'Sleeping Prince', after being in a coma for about 20 years following a car accident.

The Prince shared details of the funeral and condolences on his 'X' platform account, saying: 'O reassured soul, return to your Lord well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My [righteous] servants and enter My Paradise.' With hearts believing in the decree and destiny of Allah, with deep sorrow and grief, we mourn our dear son Prince Walid bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away today.'

Prince Khaled added: 'The funeral prayer for the deceased will be held tomorrow, Sunday 25/1/1447 corresponding to 20/7/2025, for men at the Turki bin Abdullah Mosque after Asr prayer, and for women at King Faisal Specialist Hospital after Dhuhr prayer.'

The father of the Sleeping Prince also announced that condolences will be held for 3 days, starting from tomorrow, Sunday, and continuing until Tuesday. The men's condolences will be held at the Prince Walid bin Talal Palace in Al Fakhriyah district, while the women's condolences will be held at the Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Palace in Al Fakhriyah, after Maghrib prayer.

The Prince concluded his announcement saying: 'Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.'

It is worth mentioning that Prince Walid was involved in a car accident in 2005 during his military college studies, which led to him falling into a coma and earning him the title of the 'Sleeping Prince'. Since then, his father Prince Khaled has never left his side in an inspiring story that touched the hearts of many.
