Daraa Governor discusses with UN delegation the situation of families arriving from the countryside of As-Suwayda Governorate

Daraa Governor Anwar al-Zu'bi held a meeting today with representatives of international organizations working in the humanitarian field to discuss ways to address the humanitarian deterioration of families displaced from the countryside of As-Suwayda Governorate and to respond urgently to the crisis requirements.
The meeting focused on identifying immediate intervention priorities, especially in the areas of shelter, food, and healthcare, in addition to discussing long-term strategic plans aimed at alleviating the suffering of the displaced and enhancing the local community's capacity to accommodate and provide necessary support.
As part of the implementation measures, Daraa Governorate announced the formation of an "Emergency Committee" to monitor the conditions of the arrivals, and to secure support in accordance with international humanitarian standards, in coordination with relevant local and international entities.
This comes after local authorities established temporary accommodation centers in the governorate to receive families coming from the countryside of As-Suwayda, where schools and public halls were prepared to provide shelter, in addition to enhancing coordination between government entities to meet the basic needs of the displaced.
