Damascus University Enters the International Islamic Ranking for the First Time in Its History

The university ranked in the category "+2001" out of 2661 educational and research institutions worldwide, according to what was announced by the Director of the Ranking Office at Damascus University, Dr. Marwan Al-Ra'i, who explained that the ranking relies on the American "Clarivate" databases, known for their accuracy in reference and research measurements.
The international Islamic ranking is based on 13 scientific criteria distributed across four main axes, including: the quality of scientific research, the efficiency of the educational process, the level of international contributions, and the degree of innovation within the university. Damascus University recorded outstanding performance in the axes of scientific research and international openness, due to the noticeable growth in the number of research published by its academic staff over the past two years.
Data from the ranking indicated that a percentage of the university's research was included among the top 3% globally, which contributed to its classification among the top 5% of universities in the field of scientific research, enhancing the chances of its degrees being recognized internationally and granting it a prestigious status among global academic institutions.
Al-Ra'i considered this achievement to be the result of systematic efforts made by the university over the past years, aimed at raising the level of academic performance and enhancing international presence, noting that Damascus University is now among more than twenty global rankings, after being listed in only four until the end of 2023.
