Damascus Denies the Presence of Tanks and an Israeli Checkpoint in Qatana

The Media Relations Office in Damascus and its countryside confirmed the truth of the circulated news about the sighting of a tank and an Israeli army checkpoint in the city of Qatana in the southern countryside.
The office explained that the news circulated in the past hours is "completely false and baseless."
The statement read: "The Media Relations Office in Damascus and its countryside expresses its extreme astonishment at the circulation of claims by some media outlets and sources that have no basis in truth, talking about the sighting of a tank and an Israeli military checkpoint in the city of Qatana, south of Damascus, reportedly from what was said to be a UN source and official."
The office emphasized that this news is "completely false and has no connection to reality," adding that Qatana "falls under the full sovereignty of the Syrian state, with Syrian army points spread throughout and subject to close monitoring by military and security agencies."
The statement called on the media to "exercise accuracy and professionalism, and not to succumb to rumors or adopt suspicious narratives," adding that the office "reserves its legal right to pursue anyone who promotes such lies that undermine national sovereignty."
