Internal Security Forces Director in Sweida, Ahmad Dalati, said today, Sunday, "We have succeeded in regaining control over the areas of Tal al-Hadid and Hazm on the outskirts of Sweida."
In statements to "Al-Arabiya TV," Dalati added: "There are internal conflicts among the factions in Sweida," and continued: "Armed factions have taken control of the aid distribution center in Sweida."
Dalati pointed out that the attacks on security personnel aim to breach the ceasefire.
He said: "We have communicated with the mediators guaranteeing the ceasefire to restore calm to the city." He emphasized that the attack on the areas of Tal al-Hadid and Hazm was not random and was carried out in an organized manner.
Dalati added: "The armed factions in the city are the ones preventing state institutions from functioning there," noting that the armed factions in the city are composed of remnants of the regime and are trying to maintain their influence.
