Brazil Shocked by Crime: Former Sports Star Murdered After Kidnapping, Cameras Document the Tragedy

Former Brazilian volleyball player Everton Pereira Fagundes da Conceição, known as "Everton Boy", was killed after being kidnapped and shot in the city of Cuiabá in the state of Mato Grosso.
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", "Everton Boy was kidnapped and killed by his ex-girlfriend's husband in a tragic incident that occurred on Thursday night in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso in central-western Brazil".
Investigations revealed that the 46-year-old player was kidnapped at gunpoint before the perpetrator shot him three times while he was driving his small truck, causing him to lose control and collide head-on with another car near a gas station.
Surveillance camera footage showed the suspect, Ederli Pacheco, "getting off" the truck seconds after the incident and fleeing the scene.
