Court Orders Mona Zaki to Pay 3.63 Million Egyptian Pounds After Selling Mortgaged Apartment

The North Giza Court of First Instance issued a ruling obligating the artist Mona Zaki to pay a sum of 3,630,000 Egyptian Pounds following a legal dispute arising from the sale of a residential apartment in Mohandessin district that was mortgaged to a bank.
Regarding the background of the issue, in 2024, the artist sold her apartment located on Syria Street in Mohandessin for 5 million pounds. However, the buyer later discovered that the property had bank warnings due to being mortgaged since 2004, with the debt on the apartment amounting to over 4 million pounds, which is part of a total property debt reaching 29 million pounds.
The buyer filed a lawsuit against Mona Zaki, accusing her of concealing the truth about the mortgage during the sale, resulting in financial losses. The court ruled in favor of the buyer, affirming that the artist violated the terms of the contract between the parties, necessitating her to pay the specified compensation.
