The "second and final stage" of the Syrian Junior Scientific Olympiad for juniors and youth witnessed an exciting start to the third week under the slogan "Towards a Bright Scientific Future", where 624 male and female students passed tests that concluded today, completing the journey of 1755 participants since its inception in early June.
The tests were conducted at university centers in the country's provinces, lasting an hour and a half, in an electronic format that emphasizes thinking and analysis, rather than memorization, in the general science specialization for juniors and biology for youth, preparing them for the third stage - the final eliminations.
Dania Qabbani, the director of the Olympiad at the Excellence and Creativity Authority, emphasized that this competition enhances critical and creative thinking skills, fosters a spirit of competition and teamwork among students, supporting the authority's vision in developing scientific talents from a young age.
Students like Hadi Al-Khouri, Ghaith Suwar, Yumna Rangous, and Lailas Al-Ali expressed their satisfaction with the questions that ranged from easy to challenging, confirming that presenting them in a way that requires thinking made the competition stimulating. They added that training by parents and trainers through recorded lectures and actual meetings had a significant impact on their preparation and their ambition to reach international levels and raise Syria's name high.
It is worth mentioning that the first acceptance stage was conducted online between April 11 and 16, covering specializations in mathematics, physics, chemistry, general science, and biology, before moving on to the current tests in the provinces, in preparation for the final eliminations.
