The General Establishment for Electricity Transmission and Distribution announced today, Thursday, the completion of maintenance works on the high-voltage line (66 kV) "Al-Masayfah - Al-Kum", which is one of the vital power lines supplying Al-Suwayda Governorate.

The General Manager of the Establishment, Engineer Khaled Abu Dayyeh, stated that the completion of these works enabled securing the electricity supply fully to the governorate, confirming that the establishment's workshops, in cooperation with the Operations Department in Al-Suwayda, carried out the works in record time despite the technical and field challenges.

Abu Dayyeh emphasized the Ministry of Energy's commitment, with direct guidance from the minister, to accelerate maintenance works and enhance the readiness of the distribution networks in Al-Suwayda Governorate, aiming to ensure the stability of electricity supply and improve the quality of service provided to citizens.

For more than 10 days, Al-Suwayda Governorate has been experiencing almost complete power outages, following the military operations witnessed by the governorate in the past few days, before the announcement of a ceasefire agreement.

The governorate is facing difficult humanitarian conditions due to the interruption of services, most notably electricity, water, and medical services, despite the Syrian government's efforts to enter the governorate and secure the necessary supplies for the residents.
