A dermatology clinic owned by Sham Al-Zahabi, the daughter of the Syrian artist Assala, was closed in New Cairo after a surprise inspection by the Egyptian Ministry of Health revealed serious violations inside the clinic.
The surprise came when unregistered medications by the Egyptian Drug Authority were found, along with the use of unlicensed medical devices, in the absence of the necessary legal requirements to operate the center.
The authorities did not hesitate, an immediate decision was made to seal and close the clinic, with an official report issued on the incident and referred to the public prosecutor's office to start investigations.
Adding to the irony, Sham had recently been officially honored on "Egyptian Doctor's Day," despite being a graduate of the Faculty of Sciences and not holding a medical degree.
Her clinic had recently received a number of celebrities, including the artist Mohamed Ramadan, Sawsan Badr, and the daughter of the artist Ahmed Zahir.
It is also noteworthy that Sham, in addition to being the daughter of one of the most famous singing stars in the Arab world, holds Egyptian citizenship, adding an extra dimension of controversy to the incident that has attracted widespread attention in the media and on social media platforms.
