Britain Confirms Ongoing Support for the Syrian People and Announces New Humanitarian Aid

The United Kingdom has reaffirmed its support for the Syrian people, continuing to provide aid and humanitarian assistance. This came during the visit of the British Special Envoy to Syria, Anne Snow, to Damascus for discussions with Syrian officials.
Snow posted on the "X" platform, stating: "The United Kingdom stands with the Syrian people and will continue to do so." She added: "I returned to Damascus for talks with Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara and Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad al-Shabani regarding the regional situation and the transitional phase in Syria."
On another note, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara met with British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell yesterday in the capital, Damascus, where both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
During the meeting, President al-Shara emphasized Syria's openness to any sincere initiatives that support the security and stability of the region, provided that they respect its sovereignty and independent national decision.
In a related context, Britain announced the provision of new humanitarian aid worth £1.7 million to address the difficult conditions in southern Syria, as part of its response to the urgent needs of the population.
