A number of Bedouin individuals in As-Suwayda Governorate have appealed to the Syrian government to intervene to stop the killings committed against them and to lift the siege on large groups of them who are still besieged within As-Suwayda Governorate.
They stated in a letter addressed to the Syrian government that Druze factions are besieging hundreds of Bedouin families within the governorate, putting them at risk of extermination unless the government intervenes to save them.
Local sources have reported that some Druze factions, who reject the ceasefire agreement and are affiliated with the Druze leader Hakmat al-Hajri, have re-entered the governorate exploiting the army's withdrawal, and have committed crimes against members of the Bedouin tribes. This has forced thousands of them to flee towards safer areas, while a large number of them remain besieged within the governorate.
