The US envoy to Syria, Thomas Barak, said today, Sunday, that containing the escalating hostilities in Al-Suwayda can only be achieved through an agreement on a ceasefire, protecting the innocent, allowing humanitarian aid access, and avoiding risks.
In a post on the "X" platform, Barak added: "As of 17:00 Damascus time, all parties have agreed to a ceasefire".
Barak considered the next cornerstone on the path to inclusivity and lasting calm is the complete exchange of hostages and detainees, which logistics are being worked on.
