Baku expresses readiness to support Syria in natural gas supply

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that Baku has expressed readiness to support Syria in the field of natural gas supply.

Erdoğan told journalists aboard the presidential plane on his return from a visit to Baku that the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had offered to provide all possible support to Syria in the field of natural gas during their recent meeting.

He continued, saying: "It is very important for Aliyev to adopt this approach, because Syria's main problem is natural gas. Natural gas must be available to provide energy. There is an issue in the energy sector".

He pointed out that "Azerbaijan's readiness to supply gas to Syria is good news" according to him.
