A day after the start of natural gas flow through the pipeline between Syria and Turkey, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, revealed the existence of joint projects with Turkey for the reconstruction of Syria and support for its revival.

Jabbarov explained that the start of supplying natural gas to Syria will contribute to enhancing its energy security, adding that this project "holds historical significance," according to the Anadolu Agency.

He confirmed that "strategic cooperation" between Turkey and Azerbaijan was one of the key factors that contributed to the swift implementation of the project, noting the existence of joint projects between Ankara and Baku aimed at reconstructing Syria and supporting its revival.

Jabbarov praised the step of pumping gas from Azerbaijan to Syria via Turkey, describing it as a "turning point" in his country's history, saying: "Transporting Azerbaijani gas to Syria is a pivotal moment in our history in the energy sector. This step represents an important phase in building an energy bridge in the South Caucasus and nearby regions."

He added that this project opens the door for future cooperation between Syria and Azerbaijan, expressing his belief that the opening of the natural gas line will contribute to establishing peace in the region.
