Arrest of a Syrian war criminal accused of committing serious violations against civilians.

Syrian security forces have managed to arrest a former element in the Assad regime, accused of committing war crimes and serious violations against civilians, as part of an ongoing security campaign to pursue war criminals.
According to the "Sham" network, the Internal Security Forces arrested Ahmed Maalla, a member of the former regime's Air Intelligence Agency, suspected of torturing civilians and filming his crimes, including field executions in the countryside of Damascus.
The General Security Administration also launched an intensive security campaign in the Jabal al-Zawiya area south of Idlib to track down remnants of the fleeing former regime, in response to demands from Syrians to hold war criminals accountable.
In an open letter from Syrian citizens, it was stated that those responsible for the crimes remain at large without accountability, with a lack of public trials for senior regime figures and perpetrators of violations.
Government media sources confirmed that the Internal Security units carried out successful operations leading to the arrest of several suspects, emphasizing the continued pursuit of former regime elements and their associates to prevent any attempts to destabilize the peace.
This comes as part of a series of security and military campaigns carried out by the Syrian Ministry of Defense and Internal Security Forces, targeting individuals involved in killings and torture against Syrians during their years of service in the ranks of the former regime.
