Arrest of a member of "Coast Shield Brigade" on charges of carrying out attacks and documenting them in Latakia.

The Latakia Security Directorate announced the arrest of the suspect "Asad Kasr Suqur," a member of the so-called "Coast Shield Brigade," for his involvement in carrying out attacks on security and military checkpoints in the province.
According to security sources, "Suqur" was active within an armed group affiliated with remnants of the former regime, documenting the attacks and sharing the recordings on social media platforms in an attempt to spread fear and destabilize the peace.
Among the videos he shared, he was heard saying: "We are the men of Maqdad Fatihah," a name associated with prominent criminal figures during the era of the former Syrian regime.
The Security Directorate emphasized in its statement that it is "continuing to pursue criminals and remnants of the defunct regime, and will deal firmly with anyone who dares to threaten the security and stability of the nation." It also stressed intensifying efforts to track down terrorist elements involved in violent acts, in order to maintain public safety.
