Armed attack targets the home of the military council leader in Sweida.

The home of Colonel Tarek Al-Shoufi, the leader of the Military Council in Sweida, was attacked by armed assailants on Friday, March 21, in the town of Al-Kafr in the province's countryside. "Sweida 24" website reported that the attack was carried out by a group of young men demanding salaries from the Military Council.
The Military Council issued a statement on its official Facebook page, explaining that the attackers fired randomly due to escalating tensions, indicating that this group was incited by "known entities" to "disrupt the successes of the Military Council."
The statement confirmed that the attackers did not adhere to the Council's instructions regarding salary payment mechanisms, clarifying that salary distribution will take place after the official opening of enrollment offices.
The statement noted that the attack occurred at a time when the Military Council is expanding its influence and enhancing security in the province through various achievements, including the arrest of vandals, confiscation of stolen goods, and halting encroachments on public property.
The Military Council affirmed that the incident will not affect its efforts to achieve security and stability in Sweida, expressing its commitment to "transparency and honesty" in dealing with the local community.
