Google has started the countdown for the launch of Android 16, the latest eagerly awaited operating system version. While many users are still waiting for the Android 15 update, Android 16 has already entered the stability phase, indicating that the official release is very close. Reports suggest that Android 16 will be the biggest update in the system's history, marking a significant technological revolution. The update is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025, with rumors of a possible May launch, but the official date announced is June. Google also plans to release a secondary update in the fourth quarter of the same year, but the name has not been determined yet. As for the devices that will experience this update, Google has started providing the trial version on selected devices such as Pixel 9 series, Xiaomi 15 and 14T Pro, OnePlus 13, and Pixel tablet. It is worth noting that this trial version may contain some minor errors. Regarding the new features, the update will bring many improvements and revolutionary features. There will be centralized progress notifications, similar to iOS's "Live Activities," displaying important activities like navigation and connectivity on the lock screen or status bar. The Smart Photos feature will allow users to select photos and videos they want to share from multiple cloud sources without granting full library permissions. The update will also include a back preview feature, allowing users to review the previous screen before returning to it. The system will enhance screen performance by supporting adaptive refresh rates to improve user experience and enhance battery life. Other features in the update include significant camera improvements such as exposure and color temperature adjustments, UltraHDR support, and night video recording. In terms of privacy, the update will introduce a new advertising environment known as Privacy Sandbox, aiming to protect user privacy and reduce tracking while maintaining advertising effectiveness. There are also significant improvements in the Health Connect app for measuring physical activity, as well as providing new types of data compatible with WHO standards. Google promises that Android 16 will be a major turning point in how we interact with smart devices, with a strong focus on performance, privacy, and overall user experience improvement.
