In an unprecedented scientific innovation, a team of Chinese researchers succeeded in introducing a meticulously crafted robot resembling a gazelle into a herd of rare wild gazelles in the Tibetan Plateau, aiming to monitor them and collect accurate environmental data about them.
According to the "Xinhua" agency, the robot was designed to move in harmony with the herd, overcoming the traditional limitations of human monitoring, allowing scientists to study the behavior of Tibetan gazelles in their natural environment without disturbing them.
Liang Xinming, a researcher at the Northwest Plateau Biology Institute, confirmed that the new technology will provide reliable images and data to support efforts to protect these animals and their habitats.
The robot had traveled about two kilometers to seamlessly join the herd inside the Kekesili Nature Reserve at an altitude of over 4,600 meters above sea level, where it began its mission of monitoring wildlife from within.
