The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today, Monday, the registration of 14 new deaths due to famine and malnutrition in the sector in the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 147, including 88 children, according to a post published by the ministry on its official Facebook page.
In the same context, the Israeli government's Coordination Unit for Palestinian Affairs announced the arrival of more than 300 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
The unit stated in a statement published on the 'X' platform that more than 120 trucks arrived yesterday, while confirming that there are about 180 other trucks waiting to enter to unload their contents and distribute them to the local population by the United Nations and international organizations.
Malnutrition Crisis Worsens
On the other hand, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned of the worsening crisis of malnutrition among children under the age of five, which has doubled in the past three months due to the ongoing blockade imposed on the sector since the beginning of the war.
In another warning, the World Health Organization pointed out that the level of malnutrition in the Gaza Strip has reached 'very alarming levels', recording the highest percentage of deaths related to malnutrition in the month of July last year, with 74 deaths, including 24 children under the age of five.
